About Etnies

ETNIES is an American footwear brand based in Lake Forest, California and owned by Sole Technology, Inc. with roots deeply embedded in skateboarding. Etnies is primarily a maker of footwear designed for skateboarding, but in more recent years Etnies has also created shoes and clothing ostensibly for snowboarders, BMX and motocross riders as well as surfers. Etnies started in France in 1986 in 1989. Pierre-André Sénizergues took charge of the company, making it the first skateboard shoe company owned by a professional skateboarder. In april 2007 Pierre-André was in the news because he gave free shoes and meals to the homeless of L.A. Etnies sponsors many professional action sports athletes in sports such as skateboarding, snowboarding, surfing, BMX, and motocross.   The Etnies SEED Project grew out of a love for the planet, a sense of shared responsibility and a belief that we (and you!) can affect change.   In an effort to reinforce its commitment to the environment, Etnies is proud to unveil the Etnies SEED Project, a unique collection of apparel and footwear made of sustainable and recyclable materials that reflect our responsibility to give back to the planet.
